Amphibious trailer used during WWII and later. Towed by the DUKW 353 Amphibious truck.
The GMC, DUKW amphibious truck, was supplied to the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and Allied forces, and 2,000 were supplied to Britain under the Lend-Lease program during WWII. Used by an invasion force for the first time in Europe during the invasion of Sicily. They were also used on D-Day, the Battle of the Scheldt, Operation Veritable and Operation Plunder.
In the Pacific theater, USMC DUKW's were used to cross the coral reefs of islands such as Saipan and Guam and the tires were not affected by the coral.
This item is an unassembled and unpainted resin kit.
This model kit contains resin parts. Instructions included. Paint and glue are not included but can be purchased separately.
