German WWII, Sd.Kfz. 124 Wespe (Wasp) SP Artillery, Combat Ready.
Artitec 6870487. Combat Ready, 1/87 Scale Assembled and Finished (Winter Camouflage) Model.
Based on a modified Panzer II chassis, the Wespe mounted a 10.5cm leFH 18/2 L/28 Howitzer. These self-propelled guns were better able to keep up with the Panzers than towed artillery and were used to support them.
This self-propelled artillery was the most famous and durable in service in the German Army throughout the war, but not the most produced. This title belonged to the bigger Hummel, fitted with a 150 mm (5.9 in) howitzer (also in stock as finished model or in kit form).
The official name given to this vehicle was Leichte Feldhaubitze 18/2 (Sf) auf Geschützwagen II.
This is a fully assembled and hand painted model in winter camouflage.
Some photos may not be of actual models. Photos may show them in real life use.
